Retractable Mascara

Normally I go to MyHabit and Hautelook in the hopes of finding a great deal on shoes, bags or clothing, and lately they’ve both had some pretty great beauty products on their sites at prices that I just have not been able to pass up.  Purchasing beauty products on these sites are a great way for me to experiment with products without having to pay full price for them, that way if they disappoint, I won’t be too bummed.

Last week I came across Belvada Mascara Noir and at pretty much half off the normal price that I could not resist ordering it.  The Belvada Mascara Noir is a retractable mascara that allows for “one hand” application, meaning instead of having to dip your mascara wand into the tube, you simply just extend or retract the brush of this mascara by pushing a slider up or down.

Belvada Mascara Brush

I flat out love how sleek and user friendly this mascara is and it definitely takes the mess and time out of mascara application because you never have to wipe off any excess mascara from the brush as with traditional mascaras. I followed the directions for application, which stated with how I should hold the mascara like a pen for precision and control during application and I actually did feel as if I had more control and stability during the application process.

The Belvada Mascara is infused with keratin fibers of pure cashmere wool to hydrate, condition and help increase lash length.  My eyelashes clearly had more definition and an increase in length after applying the mascara, but I didn’t see much of a curl.  I would definitely have to use an eyelash curler with this mascara, however  I did not experience any flaking or mascara clumps and it dried pretty quickly.

The Belvada Mascara Noir is definitely one of the most innovative ideas in beauty that I’ve come across in a long time.  I do not at all regret ordering this mascara online without first ever having seen, heard of or trying it before.  Now that I’ve used it, to me it just makes total sense that mascaras would be packaged and applied the Belvada way! Have you used it?
