the Balm is highly underrated cosmetics brand in my opinion. They’re quirky whimsical packaging always catches my eye so when the brand was on sale at Hautelook recently I took advantage and purchased a few things. Being a bit of a mascara maven, I chose to try Cheater! mascara. It promises endless drama with the “stars” Vince Volume, Donnie Dark-Coat, Thomas Thick and Lance Longlash. Quite a cast characters huh? Let’s see how faithful they are to my lashes!
Cheater! mascara is pretty basic. I didn’t find it to lengthen my lashes as well as most mascaras and it did nothing for adding volume. The formula seems to be on the dry side so you must work quickly and not apply to many coats. On the plus side, this mascara does not clump, flake or smudge and has a nice dark black color. The separation is good as well.
The brush is nice–not too big or small. My lashes are quite long thanks to RevitaLash and this mascara just doesn’t do them justice. I suppose if you like a more natural look or want to draw attention to your colorful eye makeup as opposed to your lashes this would work for you.
Bottom Line: I won’t be repurchasing Cheater! mascara–I just need more impact.
